In the last few weeks I've noticed that the short sale process is running a little quicker and smoother.

Going through the process of buying or selling a property through short sale is something that must be experienced to be truly understood.  It can be painfully slow.  One of the agents on our office just closed a short sale 2 weeks ago that took her 14 months to get done!

Now though, I'm seeing short sales taking 2 months or even a little less.  This is a very good sign for our Redlands and Loma Linda market, as well as other local cities like Yucaipa, Highland and Beaumont, all of which have a high percentage of short sale listings.
